How to share photos on Google phone

When I want to send a picture through text, it sends a link to Google photos rather than straight from my phone. The only way I can see comments is by going to Google photos, when I want them to respond to the text. People are constantly complaining to me that it's a pain to open a link. How do I change this?

Welcome to Android Central! If you're trying to share the photo from within the Google Photos app, select the photo, tap Share, then tap the text messaging app. The messaging app will then open, with the photo attached, and you can then send it as an MMS message. I suspect that then you tap the Share button, you're selecting the share via Google Photos option, which will send the person a link.
