Move videos from internal storage to gallery

[Android Central Question]

Transfered all my files from iPhone 6 to samsung s8 using smart switch. All my old videos are now stored in "my files-internal storage". I would like to view these videos through the samsung gallery app, but only my photos or new videos show up there. Can you help me with this? Thanks

You should be able to copy or move them while you're in the Samsung folder and select the gallery as the destination.

Try restarting. Any pictures or videos on the phone - anywhere not marked as "don't count this folder" should show.

If you really have to change the location, copy, don't move. (If a move blows up at the wrong time, you lose the source and the destination. After the copy is okay, delete the original.)

Gallery isn't a location to put files into, it's an app that shows pictures and videos that Media Scan picks up when you start the phone. (Otherwise, every time you run a media app, it has to scan the whole phone.) If you don't have a folder named Videos, create one (My Files creates folders too) and put your videos in there.
