I just spent useless time with Samsung Customer Service trying to retrieve my missing calendar entries. After all these years of customers having the same problem, they can only suggest purchasing a 3rd party app to fix it!? Wondering if they are profiting from the sale of such apps???

It's probably simply not their business to try to recover lost data.

No 'probably' about it. Phone manufacturers aren't in the business of recovering lost data.

If the data is being lost due to a bug in a Samsung app, that's another matter, but if it's lost for any other reason (like a bug in a Google app, or user error), the manufacturer won't get involved.
