Can´t play the whole mp4 video i recorded on phone

[Android Central Question]

So i was recording something today and idk if it was interrupted but the video was still recording after that. When i wanted to watch it back at home then i couldnt watch the whole length of the video. When i click on details it shows 12 minutes but it plays only 7 minutes of it. Any help? Is there any way to recover the whole file?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Are you sure the Camera app was on for all 12 minutes and recording during that time? If you exited from the Camera app, the recording should have stopped at that time.

Did the video save to Internal Storage or the SD card? How big is the file? I believe the camera app is still limited to creating a video file no larger than 4 GB, which might correspond to a 7 minute run time, depending on the resolution of the video.
