Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? It might mean that something is syncing to a cloud service. Is it on the left or right side of the status bar?

When you see it, swipe down the notification panel -- does it show up there as well?

It doesnt, I just noticed that when it starts flashing, if I try to pull down the status bar it glitches and it wont let me pull it down. It flickers when I try to pull it down if the icon is flashing

Ive tried to screenshot but when I do it doesnt show the cloud, and I even downloaded a screen recorder but the glitch never happens when I record. Ive noticed it has something to do with notifications, because when it hapoens I cant pull the notification bar down, and If i tap on top of the screen it glitches a little and leaves a gap where the notification bar is

Look to see which apps can do a Screen Overlay: https://www.howtogeek.com/271519/how...or-on-android/. Are any of those apps unusual or unfamiliar?

Mine is doing the same thing. Usually happens if watching a video. Its a cloud with an arrow pointing up and it flashes very quickly and goes away almost as soon as you notice it. What is this?? It began almost the time the original poster had mentioned it

Welcome to Android Central! What you quoted from me still applies -- if you swipe down the notification panel, does it show up there as well?

    Welcome.

Without adequate feedback from members in this thread, we don't know what it means. I'll have to guess at it and say - though I'm in the UK and know nothing about these things - that it's Verizon Cloud.

Welcome to Android Central! Why can't you screenshot? On all Android phones, pressing Power and Vol Down at the same time takes a screenshot. Is one of those buttons broken?
