    This must be an error from Samsung?

    If that is the case I've lost a lot of important information.

    That will end my support to any Samsung product.

    I'll not be surprised if this happened to phones that is 2 years and older.

    It's possible, but it's also partly your fault - you should keep any important data backed up.

    Put the SD card into a PC or laptop and run PhotoRec on it. If there are still any files on it (if the file system is damaged, the phone won't find them, but since PhotoRec doesn't use the filesystem to find files, it can find them) PhotoRec will recover them. (Instructions are at PhotoRec Step By Step.)
