I am importing photos from my S8 to PC and it says there are 4,000+ photos that can be uploaded but most aren't mine. There are random selfies of other people and random pictures and videos but I cannot find anything on my phone that would have those. Please help me.

Anything you see in a web browser or another app is downloaded to the phone. It's supposed to be in a folder with a .nomedia file, so it won't show when you're using apps like Gallery. But transferring files doesn't do that, so you're seeing all the pictures you've ever looked at.

Lots of "import" apps will scan the whole phone and try to download all the media files they find, including all the web browser cache files and social media app cache files.

If the import app you are using will not let you pick the folders it scans, it is much easier to use your computer's file browser (Mac Finder or Windows File Explorer) to copy the folders you desire to your computer.
