I can't hear any sounds. But l can call other friends number.z9

I called my boyfriend cell. We were texting and talking earlier. But suddenly his number no longer has calling out sounds nor voice mail kick in as usual. I heard if receiver block my number, least l will hear the first one calling sound. But l did not hear any. What's wrong his cell?
