Does screen burn affect functionality of the phones with passage of time

I’ve s8 with pink shadow screen burn in.
I’m concerned if the screen will stop working eventually.

If what you are seeing IS screen-burn, then nope, it doesn't affect touch functionality (that's a separate element in your screen assembly). The only thing that is affected is the display itself, and while it won't make it cease to function, you have that constant overlay which, if you leave a bright image on for a long period of time, could worsen.
