How do I open docs and NOT download them?

My Galaxy Tab S2 downloads every single document, whereas, I only want to OPEN most documents.

You can't open a document that's not on your tab unless it's someplace like Google Docs (which has a program at the site that opens it and sends you a picture of the document). Computers just don't work that way. (They used to, back when we used dumb terminals to connect to remote mainframes - at 110bps.)
