I transferred photos from my Samsung a5 (2017) to my PC via the charging cable. Done the same many times before and never had any issues. The transferred photos on my PC are all apparently 9+ GB big now, and can't be opened, because the "format isn't supported". But I'm guessing is a "size" issue? Which sounds strange. The whole folder is said to be over 16 TB big. What on earth happened during the transfer and can this be fixed somehow? I don't have the photos on my phone anymore and of course had forgotten to back them up beforehand.

What are the file types of the files (the letters after the dots)? That might tell us what happened. (The type either changed, or is something the PC can't handle.)
