Android Central Question

I had anti-virus software on my andriod because I do online purchases with my phone.... don't I need to have some sort of security on my Google Pixel 3 as well? I'd like to keep doing that but it says here we don't need anti-virus protection... I was told by an IT expert that some of the most advanced thefts are occurring through devices and I should always protect them. It's not always viruses that our phones are at risk for.

You need anti-virus protection on anything connected to the internet - if you have anything on it you don't want anyone else to get, like your credit card number, your bank account number, etc.

Pixel 3 runs Android, the same as any other Android phone. (And iPhones get viruses too.)
