I recently noticed that if I turn off the Broadcast SSID on my router, my Pixel 2 running Android 9, patch level Nov 5, 2018 will not connect to that network, if I turn the Broadcast SSID back it, it connects right away.

There's an option you need to select in order to connect to non-broadcasting networks. When you go to connect to the network it's one of the advanced settings.

I just joined the community - could you please tell me to which of the advanced settings you are referring? When I look at advanced settings under the network I am joining, I don't see anything that stands out.
