My motorola E5 Play has been compromised, I was wondering if Jan, security patch would address it
I definitely have malware, possibly Trojan and certainly spyware. After reading about the problems Android has been dealing with lately I think it is the Gaiafish virus. I am trying to find the best way to clean my phone and go on. I have already had to factory reset it twice so I'm hoping it doesn't come to that again!!! Someone please help if you are able! Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! A security patch wouldn't get rid of malware that has infected your device. If malware has installed to the system root, then a factory reset also won't do anything, because the firmware is corrupted. You'd have to try reinstalling the firmware. If you didn't get the phone from Verizon, this might be a bit involved. If you did get it Verizon, you could use their Software Repair Assistant.
