Android Central Question

Hi. I currently have a 2nd Gen Moto G that I am replacing with a OnePlus 6T. (Hope I've made a wise choice!). In the past all my old phones have been "dead" and I've never transferred data from a live phone to a new phone before.

What I'm not sure about, is does there have to be a Sim Card in each phone before I can do this please? Or do I just remove the Nano Sim from the Moto and put it into the Oneplus, then use the OnePlus data transfer App? Sorry if I sound daft, but I don't understand how to access things if one phone has had its Sim removed.

Thank you for any suggestions....

Welcome to Android Central.

You don't need a SIM in each phone. Just put the SIM in the new device. A lot of your information will transfer from your Google Account, however the data transfer app should cover the rest of what you need.
