Android Central Question

12/15 - I get constant notifications telling me I need to login to my HTC account. When I try, it tells me to try again. And it wont let my gmail account sync either. My other email account (AOL) syncs fine.

Welcome to Android Central! Where is it asking you to login? Are you within a specific app? Are you saying your Gmail won't sync in the stock Email app, or are you talking about your Google account in general?

I'm on the home screen and it continues to kick off a tone (like a message). I actually get 2 alerts; one telling me to 'Sign in to your HTC Account again', the second message from Google Play says 'Account Action Required'.

The strange thing is, I can log into my google account from my computer and its fine. When I try to login to HTC using my gmail account, or even into my gmail account on my phone, its just tells me to try again. I cane get anywhere with it. This just started yesterday.

When that happens, swipe down the notification panel and long-press the notification, then tap App Info, and let us know which app is telling you to sign in.

One message is coming from HTC Account, the other message from Google Play services.
The strange thing is, I can log into Google Play on my PC and its fine. When I go into devices, it shows my phone as being logged in.

Go to Settings>Accounts and look at your Google account. Does it show that everything is syncing correctly? Do you have more than one Google account associated with the phone?

Also, in that menu, is there a listing for HTC? If so, select it and see if you can remove the account.

It is showing there is a problem with syncing Google (shows red arrows in circle), other apps are fine. When I click on the red arrows, it asks if I want to remove the account. BUT...it says 'removing this account will delete all of its messages, contacts, and other data from the phone!'

But you have all of that data in your Google account in the cloud. So if you remove the account and then add it back, the Google data that's in your cloud will sync back.
