Screen is turning off during call

[Android Central Question]

I am connected via bluetooth but my screen keeps turning off every 20 seconds or so.
I have changed screen timeout but it does not help.
I have turned on smart lock but did not help.
I have tried to find Phone app->call settings but there is no option ti keep the screen on.
Any ideas how I can do this?

Hi, what phone do you have? You could look in phone settings or call settings (depending on what your phone calls them) for proximity sensor (toggle it and see if the behavior changes), or "power button ends call". Good luck.

Galaxy S8, Power saving is already turned off.

Doesnt have an option to adjust proximity sensor it seems.`And `power button ends call`couldn;t be used since the screen turns off, I need to press the power button to turn it back on. FWIW, I use the mute button a lot during a call turning it on and off, which is why I need the screen available

Just to add another data point, does the phone work as expected when Bluetooth is not used?
