Why do i have to manually reset the stopwatch to have it removed from my notification bar?

If i take time with the built-in stopwatch, and then stop it and close it, it remains as a notification with no way to close it unless i go to stopwatch and click 'reset'.

Why cant i just dismiss the notification like any other app?

Thats like forcing you to view a facebook post or having to read a message to get rid of the notification. So stupid.

Because it's a stopwatch? Stopping doesn't mean you're done with it... Resetting does. You can also reset the stopwatch from the notification itself on most apps, so no need to open the app.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have, and which clock app are you using? On my Pixel 2 XL, with Google's stock Clock app, I can swipe the notification away easily after pausing the stopwatch. The notification disappears from the status bar.
