There is a feature on LG phones where if you input the wrong unlock code on the lock screen 10 times, it will reset your phone to factory default settings and erase your SD card. This just happened to my wife because our 6 year old son was messing with her phone while she wasn't looking. Unfortunately, you cannot disable this on LG phones under the security settings, I was on the phone with LG tech support for over an hour and they were no help at all. Since they are giving me no other option than to root my phone, does anyone know how to disable this security risk through rooting? Thanks.

This is a security feature that is becoming more common on phones. It prevents a thief from just guessing and guessing until they get in. There is no way around it (at least not on my LG G4 and V20). The only advice I can give is to keep the phone better secured so kids can't get to it, or perhaps find a phone that doesn't yet have this feature.
