Android Central Question

I subscribe to a GSM network (Telus – Canada). I’ll be in USA for 2 months and would like to use Verizon service. Is there a particular model version of the LG V30 that will work for both?

I’m aware that I can enter a phone’s IMEI code at either carriers’ website to confirm if it will work. However, vendors of used phones are not disclosing these codes. I want to be confident I can buy the correct version of LG V30!

The Canadian version, the H933, handles the following bands:
1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 20(800), 25(1900), 29(700), 30(2300), 66(1700/2100)

Telus uses the following bands:
2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 29(700)

Verizon uses the following bands:
2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 13(700), 20(800), 46, 66(1700/2100)
and also uses CDMA2000 for 3G, which no other variant (except the Sprint - LS998U - does.

So as you can see, you have a problem.

The H932 (T-Mobile variant) can handle:
1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 12(700), 20(800), 28(700), 29(700), 40(2300), 41(2500), 66(1700/2100), 71(600)

So the Canadian variant will probably handle T-Mobile while you're in the US. (Band 71 is being built out, but the areas using it probably still have some of the older network still running.)
