Android Automotive hardware and development requirements

Hello community,

I was lately getting interested to know more about the newly launched Android Automotive. From my basic research I found out that it is an OS unlike Android Auto which is an app that projects your phone on in car screen. My questions in specific are following:
1. Does anyone know what are the Minimum HW requirements to run Android Automotive. Like can I deploy it on a Raspberry Pi3 and would it work smoothly?
2. If deployed on Raspberry Pi 3, would I be able to use it like Android Things in order to access the GPIOs and Controlling my custom build HW in my vehicle?
