Why does my phone send a cropped picture when trying it send it through sms?

I have a Galaxy S7 and barely it seems to only what to send a cropped version of a picture when trying to send it through sms. It is super annoying. How can I fix this?

Networks limit the size of files going via mms. Perhaps use another media app like whatsap or similar.
In older phones you could also set the size of files you want to send, so it's worth looking in messaging settings to see if you can...

Which SMS app are you using?

While it is common for some apps to resize the dimensions smaller and/or reduce the image quality to fit the normal 600-1000 MB limits imposed by the carriers, cropping the image is strange and wrong behavior.

That said, there are lots of reports of some major bugs in the Facebook Messenger app that is doing some weird cropping on images.
