Welcome to Android Central! Most text messaging apps don't have a feature for this, because it's generally held to be inappropriate for text messages. Think about it -- if you're in a text conversation with someone, and every single one of their messages (including one word responses like "OK") has an extensive signature, that can get tiring very quickly.

In addition, remember that the character limit for a single SMS is 160. Once it goes over 160, it gets converted to MMS (which requires mobile data to be on). If either the sender or recipient is having problems with mobile data signal, that message might be delayed or have problems coming through at all.

In short, there's no provision for a signature in the SMS protocol, so the app has no place to add one. (There's no signature header in emails either, but since everyone uses a cut line [well ... everyone who knows how to do it properly - a line with just -- then the signature on the next line, and no more than 3 lines of signature], most email programs have been written to be able to handle this.)

When RCS becomes the default method of handling texts, there's probably going to be a signature header or method included in the protocol. (There's nothing in the protocol now, but RCS is still in diapers.)
