We have found an S7 in a field popular with day trippers, but a long way off the path, so it could have been there for some time. It powers up OK, but reaches the password screen with no clue to the owner, who has I suspect, given it up for lost and transferred his account to a new phone. There have been no incoming calls or messages. Any ideas how I could find out who it belongs to?

If you can determine what carrier it was with you could return it to them to deal with returning it to the owner. Best way to determine the carrier is to pop out the SIM card - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e?...token=KmhNvYWF

I'd give the local police a call, might have been a report filed on it.
