My phone is a ZTE and i'm out of minutes until God knows when I can afford to buy more. I've been using wifi pretty successfully BUT nothing will download or update. All it says is "download pending" but it never actually downloads. I tried going to my settings>apps>all>Google Play Store (BUT mine doesn't show cache or data) and i force stopped it, but since i have no WiFi at the moment, i can't check to see if it worked or not. What else can I do? Facebook Messenger is the only why i have of communicating with anyone until i can afford to get minutes on my phone.

Welcome to Android Central! When you go to Settings>Apps and select Play Store, tap Storage there and then Clear Cache/Data. Do the same for Download Manager -- to find that, go to Settings>Apps, tap Menu>Show System, and then look.

If the above doesn't work, go to settings, connections, data usage, make sure Data Usage is toggled off for internet access.
