Samsung SM-T280 fails to download (sync?) emails

[Android Central Question]

My Samsung SM-T280 fails to download emails for 24 hours or more. Sync (whatever that means, and yes, I have read the forum) is set to 15 minutes as on my S4, which DOES download as expected. How can I force T280 to download like S4?

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using the stock Email app? Which email provider are you using? Any power-saving modes turned on? Is background data restriction turned on?
