Trying to change password through device manager

I am trying to reset the password on my Moto G6, but when I go to device manager it’s only giving me the options to ring, secure or erase, but not lock. Do I secure the phone in order to reset the password?
 
Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, there's no way to remotely change or reset your password. You'll just have to do a hardware key factory reset -- the phone will then ask for the Google account and password associated with the phone, so hopefully you remember that.
