Why cant i use pattern lock anymore

Will not let me select pattern lock it is grayed out and i have used it before

Are you using the phone on a work account? If so, your work's security policy might require that you use either a PIN or password -- this can be done by installing security credentials on your phone when you registered it for your work account.
