Re: how can I shut off whats Running podcast with home page or power button

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, can you clarify your question? Are you saying that you're listening to a podcast, and you want to pause or stop it by pressing the Home button or the Power button? Which phone do you have, and which app are you using for the podcast?

I merged your similar threads -- it sounds like you'd like to use the Home button to stop or exit an app. Is that correct? It's not clear what you mean by "shut off."

Yes I have the Galaxy S7 and I want to know how to end whatsapp call or ruining podcast with power button or home button
Thanks
Sam

To stop a podcast that's playing, you should be able to control the playback with an app notification. Which podcast app are you using? Does it have a notification that includes playback controls?

I don't use WhatsApp, so I can't answer that question directly. But again, if you're on a call and the WhatsApp app isn't open in the foreground, then there should be a notification in the status bar that allows you to either control the call directly, or quickly open WhatsApp up again to end the call.

Thanks.
The problem is that if there is "loud sound" working app like music, Youtube, podcast or WhatsApp call and I want to shut it promptly, it takes time till I find the right screen app and then to it. [unlike regular call that can be end promptly by the power button] it's "cumbersome process"
Thanks
Sam

I'm not aware of a way to do that with the Power button. Pressing and holding Vol Down should silence the phone fairly quickly. There might also be shortcut to mute the phone, either as a native function or a 3rd party app.

If it were me, I'd just wake the screen, swipe down the notification panel, and tap the pause button for playback. It's 3 steps, but it's pretty quick and easy.
