Apps on SD card all vanished but everything else is there

[Android Central Question]

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 running 5.1.1. Lollipop. All my apps that were moved to the SD card with AppMgr Pro III suddenly are showing up as "application not installed" but have been working fine for years. All the data on the SD card is still there. I can download and install apps then move them to the SD card and they work. I tried re-formating the SD card and putting everything back on it but the apps are all still gone. Any ideas? Thank you

Not sure that most apps can be installed on a external SD card safely. You will have to download those apps again but don't put them on the external card. I use the external card for files, videos and photos that I create, no apps. There are similar answers to your problem here somewhere.
