So we have a Galaxy Note 5 that was in need of a replacement battery. We purchased a OEM Samsung battery and replaced it ourselves. When we tried to power it up, the screen flickered with some pink and purple colours, and went black. This happened the first few times we tried to power it up after letting it charge. The screen then went black, and has never shown the colours again. The blue LED light pulses when the phone is turned on, and shows red when charging. We switched back to the old battery, but there was no change. The power button was accidentally pushed during the tear down, but the phone was powered back off. Is it possible that the motherboard was baked, or was it the screen? I would like to attempt a fix, but I don't know what part to order. A repair shop quoted $300 to ATTEMPT a fix, but I would rather put that to a new phone instead, however I really don't have the money for anything. Thanks for your time.

That blue led is not a good sign... You may have killed it.
You can't boot up on any move I gather, like volume power and home?

No, I have tried every possible way to boot it. It can be seen in odin, but I can't put it in download mode.

Do you have a voltmeter? Did you 'ground" yourself before touching the innards?

The blue LED pulsing on a Samsung means it's "booting" - reading things from internal storage.

You most likely forgot to plug something back in, or broke a wire or part. (Which is why it's usually more expensive doing it yourself than paying someone to do it. Now you have to pay a shop to fix what you broke, and you still paid for the new battery.)

Like @Rukbat said, some of those ribbon connectors are so delicate you can possibly break it without realizing it.

Yes, I did ground myself. We have a multi-meter, but I don't know how to use it or what to check.
