128gb sd not 'seen' by apps when formatted as internal.

Chuwi 9Air, Android 8.
Can take 128gb. Formatted as internal.
Tried it but although Android system shows the extra128gb as internal, 5 file manager apps. don't see the extra memory, only the native 64gb.
Tried a 64gb formatted as external all apps see it ok.
Is there a work-around or file manager app that can handle this?

Nope, because when you format it as internal storage you no longer have direct access to the file system on it.
