Unlocked Pixel 3 on Verizon Cannot send SMS messages over 160 characters

[Android Central Question]

Stumped and at a loss for words. Been with Google and Verizon support for over 4 hours today to try and fix this. Wasn't doing this when I first got my Pixel 3 like 3-4 weeks ago.

Basically, I cannot send SMS with characters over 160 characters. In the message details I get an error code 65536 which I assume it means it left the device successfully but failed to be delivered. Weird thing is, some contacts can get the 160+ messages but still have the error code.

Can please help? I can provide almost any info to help resolve this
