I did a factory reset on my phone, as it started giving me hassles. When I tried to restart it asked me to use my google account details to unlock the phone, which i entered. The phone doesn't recognize my google account and wont unlock now.

I checked that the device is recognized in my google account info, which it is, however I still cannot unlock my phone using the username and password that I do to access my google account!

    Very frustrating...

Are you sure that's the account that was used to set up the Factory Reset Protection, though? Your Google account might show that device as linked (because it was prior to the Factory Reset, which until you enter the right credentials for Secure FR, it's not really going through) but if the account used to set the protection up is different, then you won't be able to reset the device until you enter the right credentials for that account.
