Android Central Question

Just in the past 3 days I started getting ads pop up that completely block my whole screen on Android. Each one says "Ad", and each one features some product available from Google Play; some are for Hulu, some are from Seekers Notes, Candy Crush, and some are for apps I do not have, such as QuickBooks. Each has an "X" at the top left side that I can close out. But a few minutes later, a new ad will come up. I uninstalled the apps for each of the ads that related to the app I had. I installed Malware bytes and ran it, found two items that it removed, but I am still getting the ads. I restarted my phone. I did not uninstall Play Store yet; is that the next step? What else is there to do?

I think I figured out my problem. When the full screen ad comes up, I reduce its size by hitting the "recently used" button to the left of the home button. When it shrinks, the top of its toolbar reveals the icon of the app that is sending the ad. It was an app called "Translate" that I had recently installed. I uninstalled it, restarted the phone, and I think it is okay now. That app had 5 stars!!! Someone should have said something about these full screen ads that block everything every few minutes.

Thanks for the info. I won't install that app. It's a problem when you read 5 star ratings, you'd think it's really a great app.
But if some of the ratings are fake as previously posted any guidelines to look out for when reviewing apps to install?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
