Android Central Question

I leave the house and wifi disconnects a ? Symbol takes it's place and my phone has plenty data but won't connect to internet at all.sometimes when I manually turn off WiFi it will come back but not Everytime until I find wifi even though my phone has plenty paid for data

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Check the Settings>Wi-fi menu for some kind of Smart Wi-fi manager functionality and turn that off.

You're not using a data saver or anything like that because the way you say that you have plenty of paid data makes it sound like you might be concerned with how much data you are using and often those concerned with data usage will use data savers or set data limits in their data settings. If you've set data limits in your data settings be sure that it is set to the correct date for reset. If you're data resets on the 21st but your plan starts over on the 5th your device could think you've reached your data limit and is attempting to save you an overage. Also if you set data limits be sure they correspond to what your actual data limits are. You don't want to have the limit kick in at 2gb when your plan is 4gb... If you've gone the data saver route you may want to find a better one or consider doing away with it all together. Often they slow down the performance of your device more than help and most OSs after Android 4 or 5 have a tool in that data settings that will help you stay within your plan limits, when set up correctly.

Any phone should still know to switch over to mobile data when there is no available wi-fi network. However, if the phone is connected to a wi-fi network that itself has no connection to the web, then that might lead to no data connection on the phone as well.
