    It depends on how broken it is. If it's dead and unresponsive, you are out of luck

    Welcome to Android Central! Were the contacts saved to your Google account, rather than the local Phone account? If so, they would've automatically synced to your Google Contacts in the cloud (which is why I always strongly recommend this). Go to contacts.google.com on your computer browser and see if your contacts are there.
