Welcome to Android Central! That's strange -- if the screen protector were blocking the proximity sensor inappropriately, the screen should black out immediately upon initiating the call, rather than staying on despite having the phone up to your ear. Can you remove the screen protector and see if the problem goes away, or would that be a big hassle?
