my camera folder is missing from the gallery and photos were not backed up.

I've not updated a software still my camera folder is not showing in the gallery and not even in the DCIM folder. All the other photo folders of screenshots, Snapchat are fine but only camera folder is missing.I've also checked Google photo trash and it is empty.also,i don't have sd card.
Please help. It had more than 600 pictures.

You could try an app like DiskDigger undelete, but the phone has to be rooted for it to work, and between rooting and installing the app, you couls overwrite a lot of those deleted pictures.

Backups are the only way to insure against something like that. (All storage eventually fails, so a couple of cloud backups (which are free) and a PC backup is cheap insurance.)
