Phone only charging when I connect it with laptop but not with wall socket?

I was using my galaxy s6 it was connected to the socket, then out of no where the screen flashed or became brighter for about 5 seconds in which i couldn't use the phone, then after i noticed it did not charge when connected with the socket. But it did when i used my laptop and started charging.

I have tried the safe mode method and that did not work, any ideas on whats wrong?

Your wall charger may be broken. Try a different one..

It most likely is the charger - but check the wall socket. If that's dead, the charger won't work.
