The phone is a Verizon phone, so it uses only CDMA technology. Carriers in Ghana use GSM technology (as does most of the world), so the phone won't work there. You'll have to get an unlocked GSM phone (unlocked so you can put in whatever SIM you want - if it's locked to, say AT&T, it will only work with an AT&T SIM, and it won't have the right frequency bands to do data in Ghana. (It has to be able to do voice and text on 900MHz and data on 3G Band 1 [or, if you use MTN, 900 and 1800 MHz, and 3G Bands 1 and 8]. There doesn't appear to be any 4G carrier in Ghana.)
