Are you saying it needs to be plugged into the charger all day or it doesn't stay on? That's not an update you need, which it's no longer supported for that. You need a new battery. The problem there is you're unlikely to find any with fresh stock because the phone is so old, and you could still have problems due to natural aging from sitting on a warehouse shelf for several years.
