After upgrading for an Android security patch, i can no longer get group messages.

I only get the name of the sender, a download icon, and a file size. Clicking on the icon, it looks like it is going to work, but it never does anything. I have cleared my cache, checked that group MMS is enabled, and rebooted the phone (Moto 4e+). I'm out of options. Help, please.
