My partner has dropped her Samsung Note 4 which has smashed the screen and it no longer displays anything. (It switches on but doesn't seem to do much).

When plugging it in to a laptop via USB cable, nothing is found on the device.

Is there any way to retrieve the photos, etc? (Obviously they weren't backed up!).

Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can offer

Hopefully, this will serve as a good reason for your partner to start taking advantage of Google Photos auto-backup: https://support.google.com/photos/an...DAndroid&hl=en
