Galaxy a5 2017 vs. Moto g6 play

Getting handsets for my two teenage kids here in Canada. Prices are generally much higher than in the US. Best price for the moto g6 play is 199 and i was able to find open box but new galaxy a5 units for 230. Would be perfectly happy with the g6 play but wondering if the a5 is worth the few extra dollars. Any comparisons that I have read compare phones within the respective price bracket. And unable to find a direct subjective comparison.
