I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 in January as a laptop alternative for travel. I want to be able to use it to edit photos. Therefore, I need to be able to have it read the SD card from my camera (which is the big one - not the micro) which requires an external reader/adapter thing. I have tried two and neither has worked. I have alse tried two different file manager apps and that has not worked either.
Please help. I am leaving for Africa in a few weeks and really need to get this sorted out.
    Many thanks,
    Lauren

Welcome to Android Central! How about using a microSD card in your camera (in a full-size SD adapter)? That way, all you have to do is remove the SD adpater from the camera, then remove the microSD from the adapter and insert that into the tablet.

Full-size SD adapters are cheap. Here's one: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-micro...cUvbUpU6520681

Hope you have a great time in Africa -- show us some pics when you get back!

Thanks, B. Diddy, but I was hoping for a solution that didn't require removing the internal SD card from the tablet all the time.
Your solution is a good backup, should I not find a way for an external one to work.

Which camera do you have? Do you know if it has the ability to connect directly to another device via USB cable?

    B. Diddy, that's a good thought. I have the Sony A6400. I suspect I may have the same problem, but I can see if I can find a micro to USB-C adapter lying around somewhere. I am also going to see if I can get the camera and tablet to communicate via the app. And here I thought technology was supposed to make our lives easier. :-)

It would, but you're probably using adapters limited to SDHC (up to 32GB) and an SDXC (up to 2TB) card. The adapter can't read the card. Get an SDXC adapter and it will work.

BTW, a micro to C adapter won't work if you need OTC - it's done differently in each.
