My car has an android gps device and just today I have been getting an error message saying "unfortunately, com.Cardroid.voice.update has stopped". I haven't attempted to update or change the operating system in anyway. I factory reset the system but the problem still is there. I believe the model is Cardroid CA03 and I am running on android 4.1.1.

I have a Cafi Dashlinq4 and mine starting doing this last night also. The message pops up and I am forced to press "OK".
It will then reset whether I click on the "OK" or not and do this about every minute.
It has been factory reset also.
I tried stopping voice and voice update in the apps and that isn't working either.

Welcome to Android Central! Jellybean is a pretty old Android version, which is quickly starting to lose support. It may be that some change in API that recently occurred is now affecting that system app.

Same here. Please, if anyone finds a solution please post it here. I am driving without music since this morning. I know it's an old Android os, but that's the machine I have at the moment and can't afford a new one. Thanks!

Here are some of the comments translated from Russian:

Here is a setup from the manufacturer of car DEXP, the error is related to the calculation of the exact number of weeks through the exchange of data with GPS satellites, 0 April 6, 2019 was updated, and 0 7 no longer works.

TEMPORARY SOLUTION, raise likes! We take out the radio and unscrew the back of the GPS antenna. Navigation, respectively, stops working, but the error disappears, the radio works fine.

A similar situation ((. I couldn’t even find the firmware, I’ll take your word for it that the firmware will not help. I wonder what the solution will be?

Search for : "Dexp evolution a01, ошибка com.cardroid.voice.update" on Youtube. You just have to kind of repeat what he did in the video. It was shutting off while trying it but in the end the date being set back one year and turning off those two check marks in GPS settings did it. If you go back into the GPS settings, they are checked every time so it seems lie it rechecks itself after you exit that menu setting, not sure. I also unplugged the GPS satellite from the back. So it's either the GPS setting, the date change or unplugging the antenna or some combination of that.

Gege1973, firmware would probably fix the issue permanently. The problem is the unit is running an old version of Android which has no more support so any version of firmware out there with this problem is probably not getting an updated firmware. I have a Cafi Dashlinq4, not a Joying or DEXP(like in the video) with Android 4.1.1, so I don't think anybody with these will get a fix since the manufacturers would have to step up and spend time/money to have this written properly on an Android version from 6 years ago.

If they were made by Pioneer/Sony/Alpine or any large tech company that produces these head units that relies on it's brand name and would be concerned about not writing firmware that would take into account GPS date issues that were known by EVERYBODY years ago maybe but all these units are Chinese Android head units that are made by companies that have almost zero customer support now.

Any other solution apart from this? Will an OS upgrade work?
