Did android pie remove custom backgrounds for messages?

[Android Central Question]

I used to have a really cool background when texting people, but since the newest update it was removed and I can't find the setting to put it back. Was this feature removed entirely?

That may have been a feature of the messaging app you were using. If that messaging app was provided by your device manufacturer (you don't mention either the device manufacturer or the messaging app) the new version for the new OS may have had a feature change.

It happened to me too

I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Samsung messages app I use would allow me to put photos from my gallery as the background. Since the Android Pie update I no longer can do that.

You can provide your feedback about this to Samsung through samsung.com Will something be done? Possibly not, but unless people provide feedback through their methods they don't know that it's a feature people want.
