    yes it can. as most devices. but be aware of possible damage to your phone.

    when rooting you'll most likely trip knox, which is a warranty void + all banking apps and Samsung pay won't work no more

    also you could 'brick' your phone. meaning that it isn't recoverable anymore with mainstream users equipment

    good way to start is xda-developers
    read yourself into all the required stuff and additional information xda offers
