Android Central Question

Every time I try to connect to an outside wifi source, Google Chrome opens as the default browser on my s4. On my son's iPhone it automatically connects to the wifi login/validation page of wherever we are, but my s4 always brings up Google, and by the time I find the page to try to validate access the phone automatically drops the wifi connection. It's extremely frustrating. I've seen plenty of threads saying how to set Chrome as the default browser, but never one telling you how to do the opposite. Please help!
